Frequently asked questions
What is a blank job description template?
A blank job description template is an empty, ready-to-fill form with every field laid out — position details, role summary, responsibilities, requirements, nice-to-haves, schedule, how to apply, and an EEO statement — so you can complete it for any role without writing the structure yourself. This page is that form, with a filled Administrative Assistant example alongside it.
How is this different from the full job description template?
This blank form is a compact, fill-in-the-blank layout for when you just want clean fields to complete. The full job description template adds written guidance in each section and a longer worked example. Use the blank form to move fast; use the full template if you want more coaching on what to write.
How do I fill out a blank job description form?
Start with the position details and a one- or two-sentence summary, then list six to ten responsibilities that each begin with a verb, the genuine requirements, any nice-to-haves, the schedule, and how to apply. Add a real pay range — it is required in many states — and keep the EEO statement at the end.
Can I download the blank job description form in Word?
Yes. Download it as a Word .docx or PDF, or copy the text into Google Docs — free, with no email, no signup, and no watermark. Every download is the same full-quality file.
